ARTICLE B: PURPOSES

1.1 The purposes of the Society are:

a) To provide students with the opportunity to realize the physical, social and emotional values that can

be derived from inter school competition;

b) To promote competition and sportsmanship among member schools;

c) To cooperate with other athletic administrative bodies within the confines of the South Okanagan area;

d) To be a member of and follow the guidelines of the B.C. School Sports (B.C.S.S.)

e) To honour the code of desirable practices as set down by the B.C.S.S.

f) To provide, adopt and legislate uniform qualifications and conditions governing regulations of schedules,

tournaments and other special events;

g) To fix and determine by rules and regulations the qualifications of all players and teams who are members

of the Association;

h) To be a member of and follow the guidelines of the Okanagan Valley Schools Athletic Association
